"4. Musical variety was abysmal."Normal for an audio show.....
"Now, I understand why companies wouldn't want to play poorly recorded music, but I personally don't see much enjoyment in listening to 'X' singer singing in 'Y' language recorded in 'Z' country."
If the music's good, I don't care what country it's from or what language it's sung in....
"It was difficult to find any room with real toe-tapping music that had some cajones."
You mean those box-shaped percussion instruments?? [-;
Seriously, I think it's more the lack of decent digital playback than the music. For the former is often mistaken for the latter.
I cited this problem at the 2006 show. It got depressing.
"5. My personal favorite room was the Weiss room."
Supposedly some of the finest digital front ends currently available.... But the expense will often require a second mortgage. The main hope is to snag one used.... But you may have to wait a while before such opportunity.
Follow Ups:
I did like Weiss room as well, despite the lack of room treatment.I did enjoy the Vandersteen model 5 with the AR electronics’.
The Aurum Acoustics was also one of my favourite with their great WAF
acoustic panel. The Guru speaker. The Scandinavian response to the Brit’s mini monitor.
Odyno
not be confused with cojines, the comfy pillow. Now, you could put the cojines on the cajones, and sit down your cojones.
Killer Jamones
They left out the best part.... chicharrones!
sí, you said a bad word, plus you are making me hungry for Cuban food—cabrone, I can't satisfy this desire easily in North Dakota.
yOUR THOUGHTS?
Was there yesterday, went to the KEF room twice. Very nice sound, fed by excellent electronics (If I remember right it was Chord).
I wasn't in the Weiss room or MBL room. (Was David Weinhart there?)I wasn't in the Ayre or Bel Canto room.
I wasn't even at the HE 2007 show.....
