It's my impression that every track on the live album "Concerts for a Landmine Free World" are inverted polarity (out of absolute polarity), Vanguard 79579-2
Follow Ups:
Thought so. Please stop.
Compared to the unamplified live sound of the concert as it would have been heard at the concert. When that CD is playedback through a non-inverting system the pressures and rarefactions of the live performance are the opposite of those heard at the live performace.
. . . it comes out wrong. For the other half it comes out right. Now what?
And, since there are millions of CDs, LPs, tapes, SACDs (to say nothing of FM broadcasts) out in the marketplace of either polarity, your post about one record helps...who? And exactly how?
Please stop. You have caused more confusion and spread more disinformation about polarity than anyone or anything I can think of.
implode if they are recorded out-of-phase?

That's an interesting observation. What evidence do you have to support your position?
My non-inverting playback systems that allow their polarity to be switched remotely and my ears. An audiophile friend of mine believes that "Joan Beaz 5" on Vanguard VMD 79160 is also out of polarity. Perhaps Vanguard is another CD label besides Reference Records that seems to be out of polarity but first more listening to other of Vanguard's other CD will be required to be sure.
... Vanguards are inverting. The lists by label (in Fi and Ultimate Audio) seem to me to be pretty reliable and have certainly been around for years.
Dear David,So far the only other CD label that we believe is consistantly inverted is Reference Records.
it generally inverts you. At least, it changes your opinion about which way is up.
I can normally control myself, but this takes the cake. Once again your platform disregards all other meaningful worldly matters and contorts them to something that,in the real sense, has little or no meaning what-so-ever! I am more angered at myself for having been drawn into reading that which might have been otherwise worthwhile material!
It is well known that Vanguard is among the labels that recorded most if not all their stuff in inverted polarity,. Where you been?
