In http://www.audioasylum.com/forums/pcaudio/messages/17549.html I described how I managed to make a dvd-audio on Mac. I burnt an .ISO image authored with dvd-audiofile sorting tracks in three different "groups". The structure is like that:AUDIO_TS
ATS_01_0.BUP
ATS_01_0.IFO
ATS_01_1.AOB
ATS_01_2.AOB
ATS_02_0.BUP
ATS_02_0.IFO
ATS_02_1.AOB
ATS_02_2.AOB
ATS_03_0.BUP
ATS_03_0.IFO
ATS_03_1.AOB
ATS_03_2.AOB
AUDIO_PP.IFO
AUDIO_TS.BUP
AUDIO_TS.IFOVIDEO_TS
(empty)
I played the DVD on my Linn Unidisk SC without problem ... however, only the tracks in the first "Group". I could not access the tracks in the other two groups.Do you DVD-A techies have an idea what's wrong here? Did I miss anything in operating my player? Or is it a bad idea to organize tracks in groups?
Follow Ups:
Does the player actually play all 9 groups?
I don't know it, but have run across players before that are only capable of accessing a single group.Another possibility is that you didn't set the end actions to go from group to group.
Generally, Multi-Group will not play Group 1 - Group 2 - Group 3 etc.
You would need to set a trap in the PGC Menu space to do this.
Normal behaviour is play the group, return to top menu unless things have been programmed differently.Groups are usually used for adding Video content, or bonus tracks, or alternative mixes, or even different paths through the audio you import.
Have you tried using the GOTO button on the remote to switch between groups?
Well, I did. But it seems one needs an external display (monitor/TV) for this. Is that true? The Linn is a new machine for me and I am not well acquainted with it yet.
Unfortunately there are quite a few players and titles that require a video monitor to easily/successfully navigate. This is one of the reasons why DVD-Audio didn't get much traction with audiophiles.
