Sorry if this is posted before, my computer is acting funky.I am having trouble deciding which player to get. The onix 88 or music hall 25. Are these players really exactly the same? I would hate to buy the onix only to find out that the music hall is the better player. Please help!

It's a FAR better CDP. You'll avoid upgrade-itis for a lot longer, and you can roll tubes to your heart's content.
.....After all, a used JD100 typically sells for about TWICE the price of a new Onix, although I saw one sell on A'gon a few days ago for $475, but this is rare. Plus, factor in the price of a used Onix (like $206 for the one I scored) and now you're looking at nearly 3 times the price for a used Jolida, like the one in your link. Relatively speaking, your comparison is kind of like telling someone to buy the "X" player for $3000 because it sounds better then the "Y" player for $1000.Sure, I would gladly own a Jolida over the Onix, and I'm sure most of us would. But, in reality, a Jolida is out of my current budget. Some people have a tough enough time feeding their families, let alone buying high end audio gear. We're lucky that CDP's like the Onix are available, since it allows us "poor" audiophiles to afford to get closer to our sonic dreams.
The "tube rolling" is a great benefit of the Jolida, but remember it's an added expense. At least us SS owners have "op amp rolling" :-)
BTW, if you are offering a used Jolida for $300, I'll take it!
YES! I listened to the jolida cd player with their envoy pre amp hooked up to their 200 watt per channel mono blocks. The speakers were a pair of thiels and a thiel sub. I must say it was amazing! Find me a jolida for 300 or 350 and ill buy it right now. But for now, I just bought a onix cd player for 225 brand new in box. I decided I want to change my nad c350 to the Jolida 1501 hybrid at 100 watts per channel. What do you guys think about this match?
Relax. Yes its the exact same player except opamps. AVS123 owner has even verified that it is the same rebadged Shanling as the Music Hall.Go to Audiogon.com and do a word search for the Onix and you can find info to verify this as the same player, under some of the modification ads.
You can also go to audiocircle.com and find the AVS123 forum.
The opamps used in both players are commonly used and should be similar.
get the onix-save a few $$-
if your interested you can see some reviews and sameness about it at the av123 forum
also if you can find the usher cd player it is the same as the other two.
Same player rebadged by a few differant companies. Not half bad for the price either! And lots of mods/upgrade available. Go for the Onix and save some dough. The Onix integrateds are nice to I know a friend who owns a full Onix system(cd player/amp/speakers) and is more than happy especially for what he paid.
