Anyone had any experience on this little machine that cuts cds.It cuts cds at a 38 degree angle on the edge of the cd? Does it work?
Follow Ups:
I've heard several demonstrations, which, while not being double blind and tested to any particular statistical confidence level, were nonetheless impressive. The demonstration consisted of playing otherwise identical discs, one cut and one uncut. Almost everyone could hear a difference, and the preference was in favor of the cut disc.My only concern is with the long-term impact on the disc. Will the cut surface lead to greater exposure of the metal layer and premature oxidation damage? So far, I have a trial disc that is about four years old that shows no adverse impact.
I started cutting discs about seven years ago and have done several thousand over time. No problems. I do have uncut discs from 20 years ago that have oxidation problems and won't play properly. It would be a real bummer if my cut discs start crapping out in a few years.
About nine out of ten people that I have demonstated a before and after difference on their CDs in my main system have indicated that they noticed a clear improvement.
