Individually, you will be saving $200, before import duties/tax.Does this include the "Silver Raincoat" i/c and the silver fuse?
It IS a fantastic player for the money, in my estimation, better than my Copland 289, which, when new, would have cost $2500(I think) Stateside.
Used as a transport, it is even better with my TriVista DAC, although, if I did not already have the MF, I would not have felt the need to buy it to use with the E5.
Best of Luck
Follow Ups:
Snowy Law from cattylink offered the Analog Research Silver Raincoat power cable as a free bonus with all North American orders of the E.Sound CD-E5. He then advised me that group buys were possible at which point I posted the info on Head-Fi and chillysalsa took up the cause. As far as I know the free power cord is still part of the group buy deal, but it might be a good idea to double check that.I would assume the silver fuse is included as well. By the way, how do you get that fuse compartment open? I havent been able to figure it out. :p
PS. My amp finally arrived and I am absolutely loving the CD-E5. :D
slides open if you slip a fine blade like a scalpel into the (very small) gap above the black plastic holder. It opes easily, but is slightly trickier to close. And the silver fuse - too subtle for me to honestly say I heard any difference at all. I am still discovering how good the overall package is, as every CD I play sounds better than I remember on other machines, and that is not subtle.
I know this deal is a bit of a risk, but if these guys don't take it up, they will be missing out big time!
Keep me in touch with how you get on - I am intrigued by your new amp - my Meixings are fantastic!
Thanks for the Fuse Tip. :)"as every CD I play sounds better than I remember on other machines, and that is not subtle."
Funny that you should put it that way, I just said much the same in my E.Sound CD-E5 thread on Head-Fi. Pop over and have a read, the link is below. :D
