There's a website called ShortyCable.com that's selling very short interconnect cables.
They have 6 inches, 1-ft, 2-ft, etc.
They also have long cables called LongyCable...kinda corny.

There is nothing corny about it. I also make patch cables that size in length...it's common outside of the consumer audio world. The shorter the better.
At short lengths like this, one is hearing more of the qualities of the connections than you are that of the wire. Due to the very short length and lack of buffer effect, one might run into problems with the load component modulating the output of the source component due to differences in impedances and reactance. If you have the proper test equipment, it is easy to see what's taking place, but without sophisticated tools and the know how to use them, one is stuck with trusting their ears. As always, your mileage may vary and personal preferences tend to dominate in such a situation : ) Sean
