Hello,

there is no need for absorbing material inside the woofer- cabinets.
To stiffen the cabinet- structure is helpful to reduce resonances, also cross- braces near the driver doesn`t affect the sound. Best method to stiffen the woofer- cabinet is to divide the big resonating surfaces into smaller areas, this results resonances at higher frequencies above the frequency- range in which the woofers are used.

  how would using nails affect sound? I would ofcourse also use glue. But I find glue-ing with just clamps..so clumsy..and I was thinking of using a few nails here and there?

    Hi Bas,

    using screws and glue is a quick method to get the woofer- cabinets built without clamps but you need many screws to pressure the platters together without warps. You always need glue to get the cabinets sealed, the screw- method is only for avoiding clamps.
