Dear Hans,I never post anything to say I disagree with anybody because I know very little and have very limited experience. But, I seem to find a problem with your line of thinking, *if* one assumes the silver wire is inferior to AN-V. This I do not know, but, if this is true, what is gone is gone in the input.
Ever heard of "GIGO" Garbage-in-garbage-out? The best transformers or caps wont recreate your input signal once it is messed up.
The same with the IC's. The golden rule I learned from Peter Q is to use the best IC near the source.
Hi Zuheyr,I'm not an expert either, but who knows what we might learn from each other :)
GIGO is an important concept and what's lost is lost, agreed!
Balance is also a valid consideration, however. When deciding to spend either $30,- on a pair of speakers and $3000,- on an interlink, or the other way around, the choice is easy for me: $30,- speakers have a much greater (negative) impact on sound quality than a $3000,- interlink could ever fix.
Matching components of similar quality is what Audio Note's level system seems to be all about: making sure people don't spend money on the wrong things.
In the end it all depends on the over-all level of Beto's set if it is wise to spend money on shielded cable or on something else. Don't you agree?
Regards,
Hans
fwiw, on my m3 I wired with AN-A, AN-V and ptfe silver on 3 separate inputs. They all sound different, but I prefer the ptfe silver. Similar sonic differences to what I have found with AN Cu vs AN Ag caps: silver is more neutral but also less colorful. Truly, a matter of taste and synergy. If I didn't have the 3 choices, my neurosis would probably be more curable...

Thanks guys,
maybe ptfe silver was similar to a run of 0.5mm silver wire but with cotton dialectric instead of teflon.
Regarding routing, maybe I have to go to the oposite side of the power TX, I guess.
Best regards,
Beto
p.s. I will consider, also, putting the Elma switch close to the back panel, with a mechanical device connected to the front panel, in order to have short wires.
