Just finished the 200 hour burn in, I must say you guys were right,
Those BGs held out for the last ten hours. Everything was bass heavy with crappy treble on and off right up to the end.
I was a bit worried for a while, but after the 200 hours I have a nice top end, smooth mids and tight bass, and getting better. So I have added the final touches as you can see, all silver rear and all gold front with a more tranquil blue led.

What does it mean its transparent??Comparing to bare wire or Supratek??

its as least as transparent as the Supratek I had, and it only has 200 hours on it.
AB, curious how the sound is changing and how you like the kit.I've got the itch to tweak and I'm considering the attenuators you used. What amp are you using your pre with? Do you have good volume control at the bottom of the volume range? With attenuators I've found that sometimes getting the "just right" setting is elusive...
Hi Doug, she's bedding in real nicely, no resistance whatsoever ;)
The mids and highs has opened up, with very fine and detailed treble.
Nothing hard and bright as with the 6sn7 preamps.
The upper bass is still a little thick, but I am hoping that will improve also, if not I can try some tube rolling. I have lots of choices, from my KT88 mono blocs to the Jolida cd player.I am using the stock tubes in the preamp, which I think I will stick with for awhile. I tried a pair of Tun-Sol from the Tube Depot for about 10 hours untill one lost volume, so I sent them back.
The Goldpoints has worked out perfectly. Quiet, smooth operation and the gain increments are very small so its easy to fine tune.
All other preamps I have owned, used the Noble and even with added shunt resisters or gain switches turned down, I could never use the volume pass 10 o'clock. I usually listen at around 9.
Now with the Goldpoints I have useable control up to 12 with the cd player, and 2 o'clock with the phono stage.
The dual mono is a little more work, but worth it.I think you would love it.
AB.
AB, your experience has me looking into options. I'm going to start another thread so as no to hijack this one.On the tube front, I'm a big fan of the tung-sol but have found the philips that came stock to sound good, too. The tung-sol also sound great in my kit1.
Glad you're liking your kit!
