It will sound more like music than a Krell or otherwise. And it is autobias. You are a musician...you know what music sounds like...get tubes!Did you see it yet? Try this is the link...if not go to www.upscaleaudio.com in case I did it wrong
Follow Ups:
Or just take it up a notch and get a Cayin TA-30 integrated from Paul at Bizzybee. He's currently running a promo where you can get the amp for $699.00 with one his mod's included. A nice smooth sounding amp with some slam to boot, all for a fair price. Happy listeningKen
I looked at the picture of the inside of the Prima Luna Prologue One at Upscale Audio's website (see the URL below). It's IDENTICAL to my stock Cayin TA-30, complete with "Real Cap" capacitors and biasing trim pots!I thought the Prologue have an autobiasing circuit, but the picture of the inside prove otherwise. It has the same manual biasing circuit board as my Cayin TA-30.

Look at the PrimaLuna page and you will see the difference. Please read the text...it's pretty clear. The picture you show was one we took prior to having a few thing protected by agreement. But you failed to go the the other picture/text right there in front of you. Gimme a break here.
You have to understand we are taking this whole thing to a much higher level, and Herman from Durob Audio and Ah! Tjoeb fame is travelling and spending weeks at the factory to make sure that it is always perfect. The distribution will be more consistent, and all parts in stock. But the idea was to make the amp bulletproof so it needs no service. Read the reviews on our website.
Differences are:
Soft-start circuit: Extends tube life, and reduce the chance of tube failure/shorts.
Tube fuse: Protects the amp output stage. Other amplifiers may need a trip to the shop if a tube fails. Not this one. Just plug in a new tube and fuse, and go.
Adaptive AutoBias™ : Exclusive to PrimaLuna, this circuit monitors and adjusts bias constantly and instantly. Improved performance and better sound as distortion is reduced by 40% to 50% over conventional designs. You no longer have to use matched tubes or make ANY adjustments. Ever
Custom designed output transformers: Encapsulated low hum, wide bandwidth for great bass and extended highs. Designed by Marcel Croese and one of the most prestigious transformer designers in the USA

Thanks for the clarification, Kevin. Guess what you're saying is that the Prima Luna is more like aged Gouda, while the Cayin is Gouda-Lite. It's just not the same cheese, right?Points taken and break given!

Well....not exactly. The TA-30 is a super nice amp. Really nice.
We could have just taken that. But I we wanted to make sure of a few things...esp as it pertains to ease of ownership, and to make it trounce the other products in its category for sound andf performance...namely ASL and Jolida. The build is already unquestionably the best anywhere near its price. I have a competing amp opened up here showing its innards next to the PrimaLuna so people can see.
Durob Audio in Holland has a pretty talented engineering team. We are leveraging that.
Nice amp dude! You should tube roll in it.
I finally get it (Duh!), that upscale Audio caters to higher end ("upscale") customers in the audiophile community. So neat features like autobiasing and slow start spares them of these hassels and potential extra trips to the shop.Fair enough, and points well taken.
