DL103->RB300 (stock, no ground wire)->LL9206->Bugle. (at 20dB)

The hum is constant and loud as soon as I turn my phono stage on. (T amp still off) I have the trafos in a metal Hammond case. The secondary ground goes to my phono ground terminal. Though I've tried it a bunch of ways.

In a message below Kevin mentioned grounding the primary side, how would I do that? Thanks for any help.

  Connect the shell of the RCA input jack to that of the output for each channel and I suspect that your hum will go away. If the tonearm cable is two conductor coaxial cable, the shield needs a ground connection to act as a shield and it can get that from the phono preamp through the shield of the cable feeding the phono preamp from the step-up transformer.

    Some of the pins weren't soldered. Old age must be getting to my eyesight.

    Thanks Kevin-- that worked, hum is gone.

    BUT.... no sound. I've tried all the usual culprits; reheated the solder joints, swapped interconnects, switched the pinouts on the DL103, the best I get is a very low gain signal out of one channel. Low as if there were no step-up. :-(
