I notice that you compare your German-sourced film to others' "supreme" caps. Would you say that the word in quotes was very precisely chosen by yourself? ;)

Yes the word supreme was chosen carefully. But it's the cap, not the film that is referenced for comparison. The reason for Obliggato is that (IMO) the Solen caps are edgy sounding. I couldn't find any alternative affordable caps so had these made. Thorsten sugested specifying tight winding and no voids. I met the German manufacturer of films at one of the Electronica Asia shows and then the cap manufacturer using their films. Wound as Thorsten suggested we got a very smooth sounding cap and, compared to other expensive boutique supreme/premium brands, as good as or better sound.
Then the manufacturer agreed to do the copper case versions and the results are even better. The case seems to contribute as much difference to the sound as the dielectric. The copper cases are really a lot of trouble for the cap maker as the copper has to be buffed and the cap laquered to prevent oxidation.
Probably more than you ever wanted to know, huh?
I'm a details nut - thanks for the insight.
