RE: CJ before and after

Hi,
Thanks for your post.
The white Mundorf are cheap polypropylene capacitor and come with a big range of values.
I used all polypropylene caps in the not critical locations- the White Mundorf ( MCAP mkp), JANTZEN Cross Caps ( CJ PR14) and Mundorf Tube cap ( CJ EV1).On the critical locations i used Mundorf supreme silver/gold oil in the signal path of the CJ Premier 14 and in the CJ EV1 i used VCaps TFTF in the Output coupling caps bypassed by Mundorf Supreme and in the intermediate coupling also Vcaps TFTF.
Some critical resistors in the signal path of the CJ Premier 14 were changed by shinkoh tantalum resistors.
I would say that my primary reason to make these changes is the age of the caps, more than 20 years. I think modern capacitors are better than the used old ones.
At least i managed to extend the lifetime of these gear i like so much but i also had a bonus - A fantastic upgrade in the sound !
