I need a bit of help re-threading my tuner.

Posted by sherod on September 28, 2016 at 18:45:19:

I recently completed a refurbishing of my Sansui TU-717. The final board, F-2680, behind the dial, required a little maneuvering and after completing the board the tuner thread unraveled on me. I looked at the schematic and on the last page of the service manual, there is a large diagram on how to re-thread the tuner. I understand the route and steps 1-10 in doing this, but it is getting started I am stuck at. It says to open the capacitor all of the way before starting. Is open where the dial is at 108mhz? And when starting at step one, I see that the thread goes to the right into a notch on the side and then proceeds to step 2 beginning the thread feed to the first spool on the 88mhz end. Can someone give me a little guidance? Thanks.
