So I like the 6EM7, and I don't mind the cathode over a choke...i.e. CF over choke...or driving the IT with the cathode ....

otherwise you have it: the 6em7...I have thought about this exact setup, exept using the high mu triode, which sounds good to drive the low mu DC into the 845...nice??? maybe???

you can try the variations of course...go to MOSFET etc...
