well, if they're ported and don't have any acoustuffing, then they have a resonant chamber not unlike an acoustic guitar except for whatever contouring they're doing to minimize standing waves which could also be considered a form of tuning. that could be one way to justify the analogy.
other brands like harbeth, audionote & devore fidelity have also designed speakers with lighter cabinets designed to resonate like musical instruments too.
it's easy to make the case that ALL loudspeakers are "musical instruments"
