I have very little experience other than going to my (now defunct) dealer who carried Meridian and Magnepan.

The Meridians on front room display didn't sound particularly appealing in any way, and I treated it as background music.

I heard the Maggie 0.7's with high-quality subwoofers and good bass management & DSP (strongly recommended!), and they were superb at THE Newport audio show. (Though still not a ribbon tweeter).
