RE: How do Aletha's compare to 1VA speakers

Posted by Jive Turkey on September 27, 2013 at 09:20:49:

The Aletha's image and soundstage like crazy, maybe due to their cabinet shape.

Where they fall short of the IV-A's is in the midrange, IMHO. Pleasant but not quite as natural sounding. I assume it's the difference in the midrange driver. The IV-A's have a 5-1/2" driver and the Aletha's have a 6", and they appear to be of different materials.

That said, I could easily listen to the Aletha's long term IF I didn't have the IV-A's around!
