Yeah.

Doc Severinsen (docseverinsen.com) is the last man standing from that era. Dizzy, Clark Terry, Maynard, and others. I'll be totally bummed when Doc passes. I can't believe he's 88 and still playing. But, he takes care of himself. He once said: "I'm not going gently into that goodnight."

Now, the "new" generation of trumpet masters has taken over: Roger Ingram, Wayne Bergeron, Eric Miyashiro, ... (All dot coms if you're interested.) But they don't get the public noteriety of the past generation, which is too bad. They're all excellent musicians and great guys.
