so, here, for what it is worth, is my take

(and, clearly, I am an Old Guy in all respects, although not utterly technologically unsavvy)

The best thing about AA is its very clean and simple (too simple, I realize, by 21st Century standards) user interface. It hearkens back to the early days of the URL/HTTP internet -- and I mean that as a compliment!

I've always believed/assumed that one of the knock-on benefits of the aforementioned (apparent) simplicity has been extremely fast load and search times. The other, bloated fora have gotten steadily worse in this regard, while (presumably) requiring ever more powerful servers ($$$) and storage space to maintain even a reasonable level of performance.

The aforementioned "modern" s/w sites (I'll refrain from naming names) are also rife with downtime and spam (not to mention some fairly nasty 'adventitious agents' carrying malware & whatnot). AA has been refreshingly immune to most of the above.

I don't doubt that the "backoffice" machinations to make MY "user experience" a pleasantly benign one are extensive -- but let me here and now render my opinion.

Please don't eff it up.

Thank you for the forum and for your attention. Good luck, and Godspeed.
