Hello All,
I bought these speakers from my dealer used. They sounded horrible at his store.I read that Vandy speakers require a long breakin
period and at the price I paid I decided to buy them. They sounded like
crap for a few days in my system but then they did a 180 degree turnaround in
a flash. They were now stupid good for the money. The speakers had good bass
with my 100wpc Hafler DH-200 and were very open due to their minimum baffle
design.I hate bright anything in Hi-Fi and these weren't.The speakers are
just natural and very coherent, presenting music in a way in which you
don't pay attention to the speakers and you just find yourself listening
to your music. They soundstage very well and I've had guests comment that
they have spacious sound.I sold my Hafler and bought AMC tubes which took
the whole equation up a notch.I gained more detail, more soundstage, better
harmonic overtones.I lost some punch and bass response but for a tube
power amp at 30wpc class A it was doing just fine. The speakers are an easy
load to drive and I can't reccomend them highly enough.
