for the Concertos

I have owned the Sonus Faber Concerto's since January. I have waited until now ( October ) to write a review. I waited because I didn't have the wow feeling that I wanted to have to feel comfortable about writing a review for these speakers. Don't get me wrong I liked them a lot, and they were the best speakers I have ever owned and they were the best that I had auditioned. But, they still didn't give me what I was looking for 100% of the time. I finally realized they were great with small group Classical and Jazz, and were just okay with Rock music. So I decided to add a REL Strata III sub bass. Wow! What a difference. I can write a review now of these speakers.

These are very good speakers alone, but great with the REL. The Concerto's have a very warm sound with a great mid range. The tweeter is also very good. The best thing I can say about them is: You can listen for hours and hours with no fatigue. They image very well with a great soundstage. They also reveal every detail of the recording, and when set up right totally disappear. The set up does take a little tweaking but is not that big of a deal.

I will not be looking for a new system for a very long time.

Product Weakness: None with a good sub bass.
Product Strengths: Very musical. Can listen to music for hours at a time.
