The DB Dynamics model EC26610 Speaker is rated at 275 Watts RMS, and has dual 6 1/2 inch woofers and a 1 inch silk dome tweeter. A 10 inch passive radiator is located at the bottom side of the speaker creating a dedicated left and right speaker. It seems impossible that the 10 inch bass radiator is passive due to the incredible amount of clearly defined tonal bass that is delivered by the unit. The 6 ½ inch drivers and bass speaker cones are made of a new ceramic material that allow the drivers to react to an amazing degree without distortion, and they deliver clearly defined mid to high tones. These speakers are amazing in how they resolve identifiable tones that sound like distortion on other speakers. These are speakers that you can hear things that you cannot hear on other speakers, and I am only comparing them to high end units that will cost thousands of dollars. Combined with the incredibly clear, tonal base these speakers are nothing less than amazing. I ran them with an Acurus ACD 11 CD Player, an Acurus RL11 Preamp, and an Acurus A250 Power Amplifier. I now have them hooked up to my surround system consisting of a Kenwood 1090VR Receiver with the front channel preamp outs connected to a Yamaha M-45 Power Amplifier. The Yamaha M-45 Amplifier (110 watts per channel (I think)) is an older amp with much less power than the Acurus amp (250 watts per channel). The speakers’ performance was not affected to a large degree by the difference in power, so it appears they will match any power source with miraculous results (they are 8 OHM impedance). I had a little problem with a speaker grill, and the company DB Dynamics which is located in Australia, immediately replaced the broken parts even though they are not in warranty. The company used to be affiliated with Wharfedale, but that association has ended per Wharfedale. Can’t go wrong with these.
