The Emerald is a phenominal speaker. Many small speakers have great imaging characteristics, and the Emerald is no exception. Pinpoint imaging and great spread. More important to me, the tonal balance is very natural. The Emerald does not have the common mid-bass bump, but rather a clean, very well defined bass. The bass isn't particularly powerful or deep, but it is very accurate for such a small speaker. I can't imagine a better pair of near-field monitors or bookshelf speakers in an extra room.
However, the Emerald is even better than that. Add a good powered sub like one of ACI's Titans or Quakes and you have a first rate, full range system for not a lot of cash.
With real wood finish, these babies look like the little jewels they are. VERY attractive.
I've dealt with a lot of audio companies over the years, ACI is definitely one of the very best. Try em' you'll love em' !
