for the AT3500

Conclusion first: Simply musical.
This gem of a CD player punches well above its weight(9.5Kg)and price - which is £1,299.00 in the UK but not sure about the US pricing.

Probably best if you go read the reviews on the Astin Trew web site. Suffice to say, this machine has a VERY musical presentation, very clean and natural sound, lots of inner detail, sound staging to die for and can be listened to for hours on end without fatigue or boredom! Expect a similar performance from the best machines at twice the price - last comparison I made was with a Naim CD player costing over £6,000 - and not a patch on the AT3500 musicality.

Product Weakness: Not for 'head bangers', the deep and tuneful bass is great for everything except the heavy metal and thrash. Think Eric Clapton or the concert hall, not Motorhead.
Product Strengths: The sound qualities. Can also be factory upgraded to the plus version.
