The last improvements I want to make on my system are in the area of power cords. I have tried all the interconnects, tweaks and the like and really enjoy my systems sound these days. I had however upgraded my power cables on the cheap and wanted to try some "better" cables. I targeted the 500-1000 range as it fit my budget. I was specifically looking to improve my CDP's power cable. I have an MF Trivista. I had upgraded the stock cable a few years ago to a $200 PS Audio Lab cable. It made a difference for sure. After upgrading my interconnects and other tweaks I still had annoying silibance at times on vocals. It was past time to try some better AC cables. I tapped all my sources-the dealer where I worked lent me this cord I eventually bought as well as a Shunyata Taipan. Between those two the Gray was an easy winner for me. While both improved bass much more than I thought they would the top end on the Gray was much smoother. The silibance was gone! There was no listening fatigue at high volume. Wow, I knew it could be this nice! But wait I need to try more than two before I spend this kind of $. So I tried about 4 other cords priced between $700-$1200 and it was always the same. The Richard Gray top end was more natural less fatiging and the clear winner. Soundstage and image depth and width(very good on all models tried) which are extremely important to me varied much much less between all these cables than their sonic signature. This is why I bought the Gray. Give one a try to help rid the brash HF often heard form a digital front end.
