i have had the aragon 4004II for a year or so now, slightly modified (transparent hookup wire replacing the stock generic wire, and MIT caps replacing the stock). much better soundstage, highs less ragged after the mods. bought it used and had a local shop do the mods. it is a rather good (not great) amp, clean, w/ good bass and a neutral midrange. needs the right cable - i am presently using straightwire rhapsody II (great bass, mellow balance). for my application (driving dynaudio contours) it is just right - 200 watts / 8 ohms, and true current doubling, 400 into 4. a prudent choice when grunt is needed - electrostats, for example. there are a few around still, being traded for 1000 or less.
