A bit on the dark side, but image placement & stability is profoundly pinpoint & steadfast under ALL conditions. The bass is super transparent, but slower that expected from the rest of the upper freq's above midbass rgion. It's an unfortunate trade off for the rest of the perf package! Fairly forgiving in nature. "Smooth" has been used several times in feed back of both my & several other similar systems using this amp. Is it worth it? Very quickly answered.
