I have a friend that lives in Dallas that has one and he shares your enthusiasm. I own the Mapleknoll Airaidne Signature which is the Walkers predecessor, or design base for the Walker. For vinyl playback, the Proscenium is the benchmark, although I have not directly compared it to the last Rockport model. The results of a direct comparison would be interesting."I've had an opportunity to occasional opportunity over the years to listen to second-generation tapes over a good playback system. Listening to the Walker Proscenium turntable was more like listening to those tapes then like any other LP playback I'd heard".
I agree. As stated earlier, I haven't had a chance to directly compare the Walker to the Rockport3, but I have heard the Walker in a great playback system in Dallas. It gets somewhat close to analog reel playback, without the expense of buying the production or safety master tapes.
