The T-IV have a ribbon tweeter, it is either the thin wide one (3 ohms) or the thick wide one (2.2 ohms). The newer 3 ohm narrow ribbons are better.
The midrange is good, but not as good as the lighter one in the T-IVA. I knew that was "the" weak spot in the T-IV before I got it and it was a target for a future mod, but it was nice enough on its own so I didn't bother till it broke. By then I had been reading about the then still new Neo8 drivers and decided to try those. I started with 2 per channel and EQ and built it up to 6 per channel to eliminate the need for EQ and to get better power handling. I also tried at 8 per channel mounted outside the panel, but the difference in SQ and improved FR did not justify the effort of remounting everything in a new frame. So I used the extra units for experiments for TV/HT speakers and eventually made a mistake and blew them up.
