I guess I am responding with a bit of price shock here.
These are a bit pricey for a single driver config. Especially with all the open source designs that are out there, you could build one for way much less, using top notch materials to boot.
I could maybe justify $2k for these if you diy,and that is getting the esoteric fostex drivers and using top notch materials. 7 g's is bit much.
I have tried the single driver playground with the fostex fe166e in many blh's,bib's, and ob's. Was surprised with the output, but I had to still augment the low end with a sub significantly. I am sure you will have to do the same with these.
They look good, and I bet they provide good sound within a certain range, but for 7g's, I feel you could have gotten a bit more for the money.
I mean , with a bit more money, I would have went for something designed, built, and crafted by Josh Stippach (sp?). i am sure it would be a little more, but with you all ready outlaying this kind of scratch , a few g's wouldn't hurt much.
