There is a general thought that the minimum difference between the input impedance of the power map and output impedance of the preamp needs to be 1 : 10. The more the better. I have a preamp with an output impedance of around 1.5k ohm and the designer has cautioned me against using any power amp with less than 20 ohm input impedance. I was looking at the stratos / khartagos due to the fantastic reviews but now I am not too sure.
