The language, "martyrdom", means little, it merely signified unwillingness to back down.

This is a battle at the very top levels of society in Iran and the "opposition" side recognizes the need for popular support to push on. They correctly recognized they could spring board their challenge of what clearly was broad public displeasure with the current state of affairs but will the public, fully aware of who and what the personalities represent, follow then further?

That's the question...
