I share your contempt of both Hillary and Bill.
Gore? No, I don't think anyone seriously thinks Gore will ever again have a political career--Gore himself probably least of all.
As for more "nasty surprises" about Obama, well, the Rev Wright doesn't appear to have hurt him much (so far). I personally can't fathom why anyone with political ambitions would have sat through 20 years of Wright's poisonous rantings, but, on the other hand, I don't think for a moment that Obama shares Wright's views.
My concern about Obama is simply that he's seems articulate and shallow. My wife (who is English; I'm American) compares him to Tony Blair (definitely not a compliment here in the UK). With the mess the USA is in, we need a Jefferson/Lincoln/FDR/Margaret Thatcher figure to be our next president, and Obama certainly isn't that. I desperately hope to be proved wrong, as I'm sure he'll be elected.
You said nothing about Dubya or McCain, both subjects on which we disagree vehemently, so I'll leave it at that.
Cheers,Ivan
