...he was one of those guys (like the recently deceased Eddy Arnold) who could play outside of the "Nashville" mindset to a wider audience. He was a pretty witty fellow. I saw him on the old Tonight Show several times, otherwise I likely wouldn't have have been exposed to him-though "KOTR" got a lot of play on mainstream local (L.A.) radio. Ray Price was another guy like him, but not in the same league musically.
