It's really very simple. Are you willing to get out there in the real world and go face-to-face with the very people who have already felt the "impact" of feeding the coal-powered industry and convince them that sacrifice was necessary? Did you sacrifice a loved one or your health for this economic imperative?
To merely strut about in cyber-space touting free enterprise may be enough for you but you're really not all that different, if not a mirror image, of some of my weaker liberal leaning accomplices. I haven't held high political office or won more than 15 nano-seconds of fame on the internet but I have worked to improve the conditions of my fellow Postal employees, Union and non-Union alike. Other than some personal satisfaction from winning grievances against management as a steward, the rewards have been scorn and disdain from other carriers, their suspicion that I was gaining something, and the zealous over scrutiny of the miffed supervisors.
In other words, it's time for you to demonstrate that you have walked it like you're talking it or to sign off and put your core values to the test in the real world open market of ideas. The world has a lot of talkers on both the left and the right. It doesn't need another Ariana Huffington or Rush Limbaugh. Show us what you've got going for yourself.
