Most of the power in New Jersey still resides within the consitiuency that is beholden to the Democrat party.
You have the Teachers Unions who have tremendous clout in New Jersey. Don't forget the AFSME, the FOP, all of the various Labor Unions, The populations of Newark, Jersey City, Trenton and Camden where the Democrats have a stranglehold, all of the Jewish communities of North and South Jersey.....it's just ridiculous to assert that New Jersey is independant. The voters may be registered as Independant, but the power base is Democrat.
