Back in 1998 on my then new Ford Contour SVT I placed my front plate up on the windshield snug to the passenger side to the mirror mount. (actually cut a little notch in the corner to hold it up on the mount) 13 years, 110,000 miles, a few speeding tickets.. never a question from a cop about my front plate.
Next car I painted the front plate all black except the letters numbers with a thin outline, and left it on the front. (since the car had a black plastic center part, it blended in cool like) Three years, never a question.
Another new car...
My current plate up on the passenger visor, two years plus. no problem.
Like I mentioned, here, the law is written 'visible to the front', and not must be ON front.
Makes a difference.
