Was it 1969 to 1970 when the Camaro Z28 transitioned from the smaller body to the larger body style?
My high school buddy who was a few years older than me in the early 1970's had the most incredible Z28. It was green with white stripes with a manual transmission on the floor. It was the smaller style right before the car got a bit larger. I have no idea what engine it had but when he floored it, it would push me back into the seat and tires would chirp as he shifted gears.
Were there any major differences in performance, handling, etc. between the smaller style vs the larger bodies? I'm not that into American muscle cars so I wouldn't know, but I do prefer the looks of the earlier Z28.
