The stones are only small, but it's believed to be the oldest observatory in the world, for annual time keeping and agriculture. 11,000 years or so.
Many of our Aboriginal tribes were nomadic, moving around a lot (as you can imagine by the landscape of much of the country) and did not leave many marks in their 30,000 - 50,000 years here - apart from stone carving, rock and cave paintings.
