Mike, I'm pretty sure the percentage of new Porsches (versus all new cars) sold in Germany is less than the US. Gas taxes and other issues make them available to only the upper crust.
I'd bet more Carreras are sold to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, than to all of Europe.
My Biochemistry professor in UCLA, went to Germany in 1965 to do his post-doc work. He went to the factory and watched his 356SC being made. He was able to go on drive with test driver. His 356 was the only one on the Autobahn. The driver told him, they sell many more 356 to the US than Germany... and this was 1965.
That SC was a GREAT little car. Really built well. Solid. I believe his son now has it.
