Who was comparing "modern Spain" to the "Iberians of old"?"Hispania" = "Iberian peninsula". The words (and many of the people there) are related in history. The region has been variously divided over the centuries but the people who live there there can all be considered "Hispanics" or Iberians".
Anyways, my post was in reference to the past, specifically during time of the Latin American conquest and the initial dividing up of the Americas amongst like-minded "Hispanics" (or "Iberians") from Spain and Portugal.
Nothing was said about "modern Spain". "Old" *Hispanics* HAVE certainly left behind a legacy in the Americas, though.
More knee-jerk PC bullcrap from you, of course. Stay away, OK?
