I've got the eye relaxation technique down pretty good. Less than 8 seconds. (My wife timed me.)
But I have to admit, originally, I was like the frustrated poor teen in "Mall Rats" who can never see the image (but seemingly everyone else can!) Then the owner of the art store explained to me that it was all about relaxing and defocusing the eyes, not straining to focus, that allowed the image to coalesce. Counter-intuitive at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's like riding a bike. Piece of cake from then on.
I wonder how fast everyone else acquired the image; anyone care to share?
