Nicely stoned and smooth most of the time. Must look up how much of this stuff I can take a day.I am sitting here on my ergonomic desk chair in front of my desktop PC. You sort of kneel, less of a bend between thigh and abdomen.
Interesting afternoon Friday, and this is a big hospital. Day surgery and extended-recovery day surgery (EDS) are now a big component of the surgery throughput. I am waiting to be prep'd in my oh so flattering surgery clothes, with a bunch of same garb day-surgery and EDS candidates.
Patricia has just left on advice that I am 'up soon' - and suddenly there are bells and alarm buzzers going off, PA announcements. And then, people in beds with their drip poles and obs poles being brought in. by nurses, wards-men and registrars ? - intern Drs.
?
Small fire in a small item in one of the EDS units. Bang goes a good part of their recovery ward capacity.
Quite striking to watch them sort it all out. Very efficient, but pretty quiet, very professional. It was difficult to hear the folks calling for oneself ;-).
I ended up having quite a long talk with the theatre team, and my surgeon. They agreed to do more for my post-op pain, a 'block'?
And I 'got a chit' to go to a centenary event at the Australian War Memorial this Wednesday. IF I am in a wheel-chair the whole time.
? But WHY Timbo???
It's one of the 'centenary' events around Australia for my Dad's Squadron. No 3 Squadron RAAF was formed during WWI. Dad was their Medical Sgt from the time they arrived in Egypt until 1942.
A once in a lifetime event and, just maybe I'll meet a survivor from back then.
Warmest
