Each sitting atop older, but pretty beefy, Manfrotto tripods.

All manual exposures & ISO settings (the available light was changing pretty quickly & steadily as the eclipse progressed).

I am a pretty rank amateur with a bad eye for composition, but I love optics and it's fun to take pictures. I still (far) prefer film, but there's no "downstream" cost associated with digital and one can always just delete the disastrous shots -- both of which are big plusses.
