I know a few cosmologists, Canberra has a space science community.
And they agree with me that my view is soundly based, even the ones who think there must be life out there agree that it's only just likely. Some will agree with me that we may well be extinct - or wiped out - within a typical extinction time frame. And that this would apply anywhere else.
The burgeoning of our human culture has only occurred in a cosmologically brief inter-glacial period. Note I almost wrote flowering but that's not at all apposite, is it?
Everyone's allowed to be a bit silly at times, as that is human.
