One Of Life's Little Joys - When Your Son Can Run Power Equipment

So my 11 year old wanted his own little boat to restore to new (I'm not crazy enough to let him run the 225 hp Searay). We found a 1961 boat and a 1958 Johnson 18 hp outboard.

We're going disassemble and repaint the motor, install a carburetor kit, seals, coils, points, condenser, and water impeller. The boat will be getting repainted to match the motor along with new seats, wiring, lights, and some teak woodwork.

Should be a fun little winter ptoject for us.

When your son checks the oil, fills the gas tank, hooks up the attachments and says; "I got this Dad".......Nice.

I'm thinking that my lawn mowing days may be ending for the next 6 years as well.
