For me the biggest disappointment with the SNP is that I couldn't vote for them in England.
Especially now that Labour apparently refuses to do their job as the official opposition.
As for status due to birth in my view inheritance tax should be 100% above a certain limit (about £1million ie the value of a decent family home in the South East). It would help make society more of a meritocracy.
The royals should get all the benefits from the royal estates (currently the estates produce about £800million in profit of which the family gets ca.£40million via the civil list) but also get all the duties which were attached to them. This means the royal family has to maintain the entire british armed forces out of their own pockets.
That surely would get rid of Trident for you. ;-)
