...apparently as the article says, Neil didn't like iTunes' AAC codec and called it compromised.
That is certainly true since it's not much better than MP3 and one of the reasons Neil had the Pono developed for a more perfectionist sound (see JA's review in the latest Stereophile which features it on the cover).
I'm currently about half way through Isaacsons' 2011 biography of Jobs which the article mentions. Jobs is shown to be a genius but a manipulative tyrant who has the ability to distort people's reality.
A new new biography which appears to portray Jobs as a kinder, gentler genius comes out next week.
